raised patio under a deck

Hi...I have a question for everybody who might install patios. As the title says, its a raised patio under a deck. My biggest question is, what would you do to protect the deck posts from rotting out prematurely?

Also, I would like to get people's opinions on using broken up concrete or 3/4 clean rock at the bottom of the patio, under the base rock.

And, am I correct to assume that you aren't supposed to use drainage rock behind the wall that raises the patio?
