I have recieved a complete mailing list for one of the more exclusive neighborhoods!

I have flyers, post cards, and brochures ready. (Working on the newsletter idea...)

There are almost 750 names on this list. Mosts of the home in this community are vacation homes. The list gives me their main house address as well as the local address.

I want to send post cards for the cheaper postage.

Is their a better/faster way than hand addressing?
I think hand-written is more personable.

I also have 90 addresses in another exclusive place that I just manually copied off mailboxes. There were no newspaperboxes. And, there were no names on the mailboxes, only addresses. Do I just mail these out as
Dear Resident?

Thanks for all suggestions and comments and.....

Put your names and addresses, into a data base program . Then print them off with your printer. It is so much faster. Most time consuming is getting them imputed.

If you have a list that is in typed form, scan it into a word process program and then format to labels. Most printshops can do this for you and give you a floppy. Otherwise, happy typing. Mine sucks.

Well, I've been typing like made for almost 45 min and I have 13 name and addresses in a database.

Earlier today, I went out to 3 different print shops and couldnt get anyone to do scan this onto a disk.
I finally stopped by the local newspaper. They said they could do it. I have to wait till tomorrow so they can figure what to charge me.

They said they can scan For IBM. They use Macs.
All I have is MS Works. From my limited experience with this program, I wouldnt be suprised if it is unable to read the scan.

Proof read those mailers. I have learned a lot on lawnsite, and I don't want to sound like a jerk, but there are tons of spelling mistakes on these posts (mine included. Have someone else read over your mailings and point out mistakes so they look professional.

Try Kinkos or Office Depot if in your area. Hope the newspaper folks can work it out. I never would have thought of that resource. Label generating can be easy OR a real pain. Be sure to preview on screen before printing. Sometimes they get screwed up half way thru..ie half on a label etc..I have clicked on print and walked off, only to come back and find 200 useless labels! Also make sure when scanning to do as a TEXT document and not photo or art. good luck

The newspaper quoted me over $400.00 for scanning!!!!
($12.00) per page!!!
I guess they just didnt want to do it. BTW they advertise printing services.

Im going to do this by hand. I need to get these things in the mail and stop f@&^^&(g around on this cpt!

BTW, I tried the local office supply. They have scanners, but nobody knows how to use them! Maybe they didnt want to do it either!

Most of these addresses are vacation homes (I also have their main address.

Do I send post cards to both addresses?

I would think home address is best. Vacation home may have mail forwarded to home or stopped all together. Send it to both if you can afford. The more often your name is seen, the better your chance of getting a call. $400 to scan? I hope you dropped your drawers and told them what they could scan!

I just thanked them for their time and apoligezed for being such a bother. Then told them to have a good day, on my way out the door.

But now that you mention it, my pants did feel a bit loose....
