Hey guys got a quick question, one of my friends is selling his grasshopper. Its got 800 hours on it and its only two years old. Its a 725 with a 52 inch flip deck, collection system, g2 transmission, 25 kubota liquid cooled engine. he is also getting rid of 40 decent accounts that gross $1200 a week to whoever buys the mower. The mower is in Excellent shape, i mean show room condition, no scratches, dents, nothing. It was all just serviced with a new clutch, new belts and new bearings. His lowest price is $7000. do you think its worth it. The machine is mint and the accounts will help to pay it off..

Pay him half now w the other half contingent
on your retainig 50percent of accts. Also a written agreement legal non competition. He could sell those accts to several different people,so be careful. If hes a friend you probably know whether you have to watch him or not.

The equipment part, (mower), sounds like a good machine. The 40 accts. at $1200.00/Wk. is the BIG QUESTION? I would talk to every one of those accts. to make sure there will be no problem upon the transition and get something in writing from the seller guaranteeing you sole rights to these accts.
Buying existing accts. can and have often translated into large desertions for no explainable reason. (Perhaps a personal bond or relationship existed with the previous individual. Even if your work is superior, they may drop you).
It sounds like a good deal but it's hard to beat the loyalty from building your biz the old fashioned way. "You earn it from scratch."
Good luck.
