View Full Version : Block Poa then seed?

I had lots of Poa Annua last spring. The guys at Lesco told me to apply Deminsion mid August to block the Poa then seed 45 days later. Has anyone had success with this approach? They claim the pre-em blocks the Poa but not the fescue. Seems to me that the pre-em would be gone in 45 days and both would germinate.

Better choice would be to apply Barricade (LESCO's Stonewall) at a low rate 6 -8 weeks prior to overseeding. Then after your seed has been mowed 4 times, go back with another application of Barricade.

Ronstar would be the BEST choice, if this is not a residential property.

Once your fescue is established, you could also use Prograss to control any Poa that slipped through.
