1-800-power41 Ask for a catalog. They have pretty good prices and a lot of other things that come in handy

I purchased mine from the dealer.

When I added up the cost of shipping and handling from the mail order people it was cheaper. It also kept me in the dealerships good graces when it comes time for repairs.

Evan,

I am looking in the Spring 2001 Landscapers Supply Catalog (Page 105) I received 2 days ago. They have a Regular Gator Mulching Blade (Part # 231025) to replace the Toro blade # 446250. It is listed as being 3 blades for a 62" Toro Groundmaster. 21 1/2 inches long, 1/2 inch center hole and .203 thick. The price is $12.69 each.

Please note: The length for the Toro blade #446250 that it replaces is only 21 inches, 1/2 inch center hole, and .190 thickness.

I cross referenced blade size and found a Magnum for a Grasshopper 61 inch deck, blade size 21 x 1/2 x .250 that may work. Part # 231248 (Page 91) The difference in cutting width may be due to spindle placement on the deck.

I hope this is helpful.

What advantage is the newer Gator Magnum blades? I've used
the regular ones for a couple of years, primarily as
doubles (Exmark 36" w/b hydro). Should I consider replacing my present ones?

Landscapersupply.com does not appear to have Gator Magnums for a 44" Lazer.....Any other reccomendations?

Vibe...

Try your dealer. Like I said in my previous post on this subject I found my dealer was the same price as catalog order once you include shipping and handling. As an added benefit you stay in good graces with your local dealer and don't have to worry about the hassle of giving your credit card # over the internet, phone, etc.

Evan i got my landscapers catalog and was suprised to see that Toro had more blades than anyother model and no Magnums. I did order 3-sets of regular Gators, I was also looking at the Grasshopper 61" they are Magnums im going to call and see if the 1/2" difference will work. Ill let you know what i find out. I'm sure Landscaper Supply has a blade that will work......I have a Great Dane, and there is not a blade listed under Great Dane. I new I needed a 21 inch blade with a 5/8 center hole............I ordered the Scag blades, and there just what I needed. As far as the differences between regular gators, and magnums, the magnums are 25% thicker with 40% higher lift. They truly leave a clean cut, with virtually no clumping, and cut wet grass easily. They also make a gator hi-lift that has the same thickness as a regular gator, but has the 40% higher lift.........I have bought 4 sets of magnums and 2 sets of high lifts for my scag and dane, and love them.........Considering my options since my mowers don't do good with doubles.

I didn't know that turfguy! Well now I have to decide if I should go with the Gator hi-lifts or the Gator Magnums......What are the advantages of a 25% thicker blade?

BTW: I just checked Landscapersupply.com and they didn't have them for an Exmark 44", not to mention it looked like they only had the regular Gtors anyway.
