I am trying to restore my jd 140 back into working order. i was wondering what you would recommend to put in the rear end of this tractor. it is Hydrostatic. so i just run hydraulic fluid or something else. Also are there any catalog's or web sites were I could find parts.

90 Weight gear oil? might give your dealer a call, the lawn tech should be able to tell you for sure

Run John Deere Low-Vis Hy-Gard transmission fluid. If you don't use a Low Viscosity fluid it will burn the hydro pump up.

Use the JD fluid in JD trannies. Otherwise you are going to do damage.
