I am a residential homeowner. Built a house on 2 acres. Seeding mid Sept, so I am now looking for a zero turn. Started with the Toro's, Lawnboy's, Cub Cadets, etc in the $3,000-$3,500 range.

The one I like the best in that upper price range is the Jazee by Country Clipper (joystick and deck flip). And more commercial leaning. It's 17 hp Kohlor Command with 48" cut. Sells new for $3,700. A dealer has last year's model reduced. Usage rated about 900 hours. 8 mph.

Also, very interested in a Ferris IS1500Z. Also, 48" cut but with 21 hp Kawasaki. The Ferris is more heavy duty and commercial entry (and the bigger problem of cleaning under the deck; could use ramps, or jacks) but sells for $5,500. Usage rated about 1,800 hours. 10 mph.

I am 56 years old. The Jazee would proably last me 10-15 years with good manitenance. The Ferris, the rest of my life.

My question is whether the Ferris is worth putting down an extra $1,800.
It's obviuosly a better zero turn but maybe the Jazee would be fine. I driven both.

Your inpur is appreciated.
