I was wondering if anybody has found something that helps decrease fruit production on crabapple trees, whether it be by injection or foliar spray and that would be labeled for such trees.

Sevin was the chemical of choice, it was applied during flower....either you blew off all the flowers and the "Sevin" killed all the pollinating Bees or some other "Magic" was involved? :blob3:

Yes

Have them sprayed by a licensed professional with dormant oil in the spring when they start to flower.

It was found that spraying with Sevin after petal fall and before fruit set, about 2/3 of the bloom would spontaneously drop. This saved the orchardist the effort involved in thinning the fruits. Applying Sevin during flowering will kill the bees and that should never be an objective.
