Wow. I can't get anybody around here to pay more than $11.00. Most will just skip the aerating at more than that. Of course, my target has been with people who have never had an aeration. Maybe I'll go after some of the better looking lawns.
I guess that means I haven't done my job educating my clients. Change in game plan.

Looks good to me. For areation we get about the same price as a mowing job, just for reference.

I charge min of 75. 20 of the lawns I areated last year were less than 3k sq feet.

I don't mean to rock your boats but you are all cheap. Our price for the first 10 k is 50 per 1000 then it scales down some. I will be going up because of cost increases. I see flyers every year for ridicuously low areation prices like 75 for any size yard and 2.00 per 1000 to overseed. Do you have a clue what your cost of doing business is? I will buy 40,000 lbs of seed this fall and my cost of seed is going to be .79 without figuring handleing, storage, overuses,
mismesured lawns, cost to spread, and guarantee ing my work. This puts us at 25.00 for areation only and 25.00 for overseeding. This is standard when dealing with most chemical lawn care companies.

You must deal with some very rich and generous people. Around here, there are not enough millionaires to go around. Most are working class stiffs and retired farmers. If I can get someone to agree to $14.00/1000 sq feet, I feel I'm doing pretty good. Most of the time though, at $14.00/1000 sq foot, they either go to the next LCO or skip the aeration all together. At $50.00/1000 sq foot I'd be out of business. And if I had to 10000 sq feet I'd be broke. So you have to know what your market will bear.

Greensboro is a blue collar town of layed off textile mill and furniture workers. This is by no means a millionaire market. Our average household income is 39k
Our average customer is living in a 125-250k house while we do have millionaire in our midst the norm is young couples who want a nice lawn but will mow themselves. While you May think we are high we are cheaper than similar companies in Raleigh and Charlotte that I know. The majority of the mow guys are pricing the same as you guys are and that is my point. We will send a letter out at these prices and will be booked by mid sept. We sell double to triple aeration, a premium blend, hand rake the edges and a guarantee providing the customer waters.
The most important thing is that we set adate and we show up on that date. My point to you guys is while you do have to be competitive in your market customers will pay for a premium service if you can establish yourself a that in your market. Call the local tg/cl and get an estimate and I think you will be shocked thet no matter the market they are more expensive than most mow guys.

I agree with the last post. My price has been about $25/M. I'm raising it this year. Although I do a very through aeration with a three point hitch aerator. I also get about another $25 - 30 /M to topdress with an organic material, but this gives a great looking lawn.
