Trailer gate securement

Whats the best way to quickly secure trailer gate (ramp type ) I currently have two pins that drop into a hole using another pin going through the 5/8" pin. US Cargo open trailer 12' x 6.5' .

Just use 1 pin for short distances....

What other options do you have?

I currently have two pieces of flat stock (on each side) with holes drill in them for a pin to drop through. It is what came on the trailer, is flimsy and sloppy. Not a great setup. I've been meaning to weld a couple of pieces of round stock for a pin to drop through, but havent done so yet.
