I'm in the search for a back up mower dragger/Dump truck for my biz. Checking Ads in Truck trader, Ebay etc and local papers. Found a 91 Chevy 3500 4x4 mason dump 77,000 miles, nearby so I checked it out.
Man theres nothing left of this truck.
I am trying to replace an 81 with 200+ miles, but the sad fact is that the old ford is in better shape than a vehicle 10 years newer.
I guess I'm going to have to go visit my old man in Florida this winter to find something with a body on it.

Under 10, my f350 is pretty beat, so I'd like to go heavier for more payload. my mowing truck has a 16' stake body, but its converted with a ramp for basicly maintenance work. I love the way it can take a load, brakes etc., compared to the little truck.

So I'm searching cab/chassis, flatbeds, stake bodys and dumpers.
I'm fairly handy, and I have an old hoist thats in good shape kicking around.

I saw a 1967 F-350 2wd dump with western and under tailgate spreader takes the cake. If it didn't have a dump with a 2nd frame it would have broke in half. The truck frame was completely rotted away. Only the dump frame was proving support. The guy was still driving it around hauling dirt. So who's idea was it not to have inspections on vehicles with farm tags. :realmad: Its a death trap to other motorists.

Dump trucks are always abused. So I spent the money and got the newest used truck I could afford. The one I found was a 1999 F-350 with 11,000 miles. It was mint and only used to plow and salt the roads on a private campground. :D Its was the cleanest used dump truck I have ever seen.

I bought a F600 dump truck at the city auction for $500. I walked by it and only looked at the tires. They were all brand new, so I figured $500 for six new tires was a good deal, and I could use the rest of the truck as parts for my fleet of F600's. Was very surprised when I won. Went to city hall, paid the lady, got the title, called a tow truck. Hauled it back to my lot and opened the hood. Had a new carb, battery, tune-up, distributor, alternator and radiator in it. Holy crap! Turned the motor over and it wouldn't start. I poured a cap full of gas down the carb and it started but died. Looked down at the fuel pump and noticed the ears were broke off it and it was wobbling rather than pumping. Some bozo musta stepped on it and broke it off. Bought a new fuel pump and the thing ran perfect. I set it up on the front of my lot and sold it in a week for $5,500.
