I have a new small lawn business - 15 yards every 10 to 14 days. I am looking at a Hustler FasTrak 52" 20hp honda for $4899 or the Ferris IS1000 48" 21hp kawi for $5299...... Any thoughts on which I should go with? Both dealers are helpful and will give me a loaner if I need to use it if I have a future breakdown.. Thanx - John

john i was waiting to see if some one would answer your question, i normaly stay away from these because i'm a ferris dealer, and dont wont to afend anyone. the best way i can put this is for a $400.00 dif. your getting a commercial unit compared to a unit designed for the home owner in the fast trak. the fast trak has hydro gear izt trans.designed for about 1500 hrs. the ferris has pumps and wheel motors designed for3000 hrs. big difference. also the ferris pumps are fan cooled. and with the suspension you well have a beter ride making you more productive and feel beter at the end of the day. so my opinion for $400.00 well werth it to get the ferris- thats a good price., just to add the huster is a good machine just not realy comparing apples here the super mini z would be equal comparison build wise.

Yea, for $400 more get the Ferris. As mentioned above the drive system will last a lot longer because its commercial grade and the suspension will help out with the ride over rougher ground.

I have owned my Ferris 1000 for almost a year now, with not one single problem. About the only down side is the 48" deck, makes it hard to get close to things to help on the trimming part. The Ferris has plenty of power, dispense grass very well, great cut & can hold a hill.

ferris; try the hustler mini z like the dealer mentioned; then your comparison will be more on level field.
