Can I get some suggestions of what could be causing this dead spot on my lawn. It started about a foot in diameter last year, and this year it's about 4-5 feet in diameter in the middle of my lawn. I can e mail you a photo.hvaldez@gvtc.com

negative, is not because of the sun or shade.

Water. It looks like it was holding water and it looks wet behind there to.

is that a low spot that holds water? if so you need to fill it in and reseed.

Looks like a septic tank lid just below the surface.

I think it is a crop circle. OOOps a grass circle. Seen any UFO's? really did you have something there that blocked the sun? Appears to big to be a trash can, too small to be a trampoline. Hummm? It looks perfectly circular, doubt it is fungal, bet it is some sort of human trick.

I agree.A round septic tank.Take a piece of rebar and shove it in the ground. If it's a septic tank, you'll hit the concrete in that area.
"Poopy" gasses leaching out of the tank will cause that.
