View Full Version : Gas Prices, We Are All Gonna Suffer.
i dont ever think this country will see gas prices under $2.25 a gallon ever. there is no end in site. i hear in 15 to 25 years all the oil will be gone anyway.. now where i am it is $3.01 a gallon and just heard it will go up every day .06 a gallon for like the next week ot 2.. if anyone on here does not say the cost of gas hurts them they are nuts... if this dont end soon i am getting out of the business

how unfortunate. but the smart businessman, plans ahead for these things. i will take great pleasure in taking the work away from these "image is everything" geniuses, with the huge enclosed trailers, being pulled by a dump truck, smokin up $500 a week in fuel. you see, when your overhead doesn't force cause you to operate at 7% profit, there is room, lots of room, for the unexpected. good luck, kid

Were just like the poor Truck owner operators that was forced outta bizz due to this crap just on a smaller scale......
Economy is improving is all that Jackass can say in DC . Yea improving my ass when small buisness operators are being forced out of buisness by ever increasing gas /fuel prices ,

As an active trader in the stock market, I judge the "economy" by the market. The dow is basically where it was 6 years ago if you pull the energy sector out of the market. The economy (market) has been basically churning. I'm heavy into energy and have been since long before I stated on this forum (several months ago) that oil would hit $70 a barrel before the year end. Several have said I was an anti Bush liberal nut just trying to bash the President. I just look at what's goings on and try to make money in the process. Letting your political philosophy dictate your investment decisions is a losers game. For you traders, look into coal, natural gas, and the oil service sector.

no craftsman, just enough common sense, to not operate at so low of a profit, that a gas hike will bury me. sorry for your situation. but, i kind of feel like this: if a guy chose to live next to a volcano, would you feel bad for him, if an eruption killed him?

Bobby I couldn't agree with you more. Yes the gas does cut into profits but by keeping overhead low , labor, we still will be in business for the long run. That's why my wife and I do 98% of the work. We keep it in the family. Yes we have debt but it's under control.

for sure but this is one of the reasons we run lean and cost efficient as some of you previous posters said. My wife and I run our business and we make the minimum amount of equipment do the most amount of work possible. This is our full time business and we have no other income or interest in other businesses so we plan to stay in it as long as we can get fuel :D

For you traders, look into coal, natural gas, and the oil service sector.
Coal is where it's at. Coal gassification will solve this country's energy problems for close to a hundred years. The technology has been around since the 20's to produce gasoline, diesel, etc. from coal. It was invented by the Germans to power their war machines in WWII. A ton of coal can produce about 1 and a half barrels of oil. Currently, this can be done at today's prices for about $1/gallon, or $35/barrel.
FVstringpicker - oil services and natural gas is where you should have been 12-18 months ago. It's time for me to cash in some of my gains. payup
grass, i will vote for you for president. 1 a gallon. i like it.. and again for those who dont care of the price of gas, wait till you go shopping or when stamps go up. you people must only think that filling up your tank is all that happens to you.. well it is all gonna rise in prices. watch

so lets all cry and moan about expensive gas prices, when crying and complaining about it isnt going to do a dang thing. It seems like 1 out of every 3 threads is someone b!tching about gas.
Yeah it sucks, but seriously, get over it.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but, the hurricane season lasts till November and its just Sept. now.
As bad as it seems, it could get worse.
On the other hand, it could get better but I think we all need a mini energy policy in any case.

your right, I didnt realize the mortgage thing. But other than mortgage thats about it. I pay rent at my house (for utilitys), pay my own insurance, car payment, etc.... only thing that I honestly dont pay for is health insurance, and that only lasts for 6 months, them im expected to get my own, which I understand.
anyway, again your right, instead of having a huge housepayment its only a few hundred bucks for me, and your right I dont have a kid (never want one, way to expensive, lol).
so ya your right, I was being kind of arragont and wasnt looking at the whole picture...

Look guys, EVERYONE in this country has the same problems with energy costs! We all are facing it , somehow this looks like a flame thread. Don't lose sight of the people who couldn't give **** about how much gas cost now. There are thousands dead and scores more without food and shelter. Lets try to keep this fuel thing in perspective and have an attitude like followed 9/11. Do anything you can to help your fellow americans. The American Red Cross is a non-partisan organization, but this is only one suggestion. We have 30,000+ members here. Is there something we can do as a community or just humans to help???
