View Full Version : Wife Says Buy!
While my wife was at work today, the landscape crew at her office complex was using a bededger. After seeing how productive it was ,she told me that I should buy one. I usually rent one. She said the same thing 2 years ago and insisted that I get a 2nd ZTR, because she didn't want me to be tired at the end of the day. The best price I've seen is $2170 for a Brown. Any other deals out there?
PS. Yes my wife has a sister!

Thats a great price they are close to $2500 up here.
I must say that they are worth every penny and will pay for itself the first season. Just remeber to get the ones that are steerable.
Good Luck this season!

The brown mfg from what I found seemed to be the best. Seems like a very productive machine. I wish I had the funds at the moment to get my hands on one.

I like the fact that the machine has a 10hp kawasaki engine on it, but I dont think the quality of the machine is better than the Trench Master.
I too agree that less than $2500 is a great price.
Picked it up today. $2169 plus a free hat. Out of 18 gasoline powered pieces of equipment, this is my first and only Honda engine. I know it will last forever.

Bob,
Was that a steerable unit or fixed handle?
Thanks,

Bob, Did you get the one at Suburban? I was looking at that one too...although I decided I'd rent one from them this season to try it out. That is if I can get a date as they are booked up on the only rental unit they have. I didn't feel like dropping $2k for a dedicated piece of equipment like that at this point.
Bob, I just bought one today and it works great. I am definite it will pay for itself this year. I spent $2300.
ED, Yes its the steerable one.
Scraper , Yes I got it from Suburban Lawn at Limestone Rd.

I bought one last year, the 9 horse steerable. There are several models from brown mftg. One of the models is the trenchmaster and comes in a couple of engine sizes. I paid $2500 for the 9 horse steerable. Excellent machine if you have the extra cash.

Bubba your playing first base during the Superbowl here.:)
These machines are for trenching and shaping the edge along ornamental beds to give them that superilous check mark shape we used to use edgers and spades for in the past.

Bob, I guess I have to envy you in a good sort of way. When the topic of a bed edger purchase came up, your significant other said "buy". When the the topic came up HERE of a purchase of a bed edger, my significant other said "bye!"
