One of my customers wants me to overseed his yard this spring. This is the estimate I came up with.It is a 1/4 acre lot.
Materials:
Aerator rental 48.00
1 bag of p. rye/fescue mix @ 55.00
1 bag of 18-24-12 starter 13.50
total 116.50
Labor:
Aerate 70.00
spread seed 15.00
spread starter 15.00
total 100.00
grand total 216.50
Does this sound right? How soon can I do this(what temperature etc,.)?THANKS AHEAD OF TIME!!!

For 12/msf of lawn I would charge $7/msf to aerate it. I would apply the seed and fert at 4lbs/msf. These prices include labor costs.
12/msf x $7 = $84 + $48(rental)
Seed x 4lbs/msf = 48/lbs x $3/lb = $144
Fert x 4lbs/msf = 48/lbs x $1/lb = $48
Total Cost=$324.00

Just one more thing Ed,
If this customer isn't a regular on your fertilizing route make sure you tell them to skip the spring application of pre-em for obvious reasons. Good Luck.
