How tight should the blade belt be? Should it be easy to engage or should their be some resistance.
How hard is it to replace the drive belt(the belt from the engine to the tranny). I noticed a few nicks in it- im thinking the belt should make it through the season.

its fairly easy to replace the drive belt all you do is loosen the things around the motor pullie that it goes to and then loosen the tensioner then it comes right off

Click here; http://www.exmark.com/manuals.htm Click on your unit then your serial number. This should tell you exactly how to properly adjust belts.
