All Bluegrass Overseed Germination?? Mowing?

My first post after much research and work!! Cut lawn as low as possible, topdressed with 6 yards of loam/compost mix. Overseeded with a slicer...now waiting...Keeping lawn moist with irrigation, how long is average for a pure Bluegrass blend to germinate?? Weather has been ideal (New England)....The existing lawn is getting long? Can I cut it even though nothing has germinated? I don't want to ruin all the work..Thanks

Depending on the variety, anywhere from 6 days to 2 or 3 weeks. And Dantis, don't get snotty because you didn't get an instant answer. This is our busy season, ya know! And you better cut your grass.
