20 HP mowed with it for the first time today, the engine sputters like the kill switch hits. but no kill switch i it is from the kill swtich in the seat, already checked that out. Any ideas?

You didn't say what brand unit this is or if the engine is new on a older unit or the whole unit is new ? If it's a brand new unit I'd take it back to the dealer and let them deal with it under warranty.

bought the mower 4 days ago, was mowing with it for the first time yesterday. sounded like the kill switch in the seat but when I checked it out the switch was not causing it to shut down. The kohler courage 20 hp never did shut clear off.

Sorry I'm not familiar with the hustler, But there is no need in you worrying with the hastle. If they were a good dealer they would have found this problem when they serviced the unit.
