Briggs carb problem...

I have a 1989 Briggs and Stratton 8HP 319cc horizontal shaft, on a Mighty Mac leaf blower. Last year, when trying to start it, after opening the gas valve, the carb and the air filter throat filled with gas, and gas was leaking out everywhere. Anyway, I had come to the conclusion that the carb float or needle was stuck. I decided to attempt to open it up today and fix it. I got the carb off, and after taking all of the screws holding the top and bottom (bowl) together, I can't get the 2 parts to seperate. I can get it to wiggle, but I can't get it off, and it feels like there is something holding it together. I can't find any way to get it apart, so I can get inside the carb. the model # is 190492 type # is 2651-01, and the code # is 83011810. If someone (restorob or someone else) could explain how to get it apart, I'd really appreciate it. Also, is there a trick for keeping the gasket between the carb, and the throat into the cylinder,in place when re-assembling it. Thanks in advance! Luckily, this isn't my main blower, but I still want to get it fixed for backup.

Take a 7/16" wrench and remove the high speed adjuster, Down inside is the main jet, Remove it and the halfs will fall apart. I use a six in one screw driver on these because a regular driver can damage the threads inside. As for the gasket I use a little weather strip contact cement.

Thanks, but where is the high speed adjuster (sorry, I'm not really very experienced with carbs). Where to you put the weather strip cement?

Look at the pic. below reference 118 is the adjuster and 113A is the main jet.
put the cement on the gasket to hold it in place while assembling.
