Hello gentlemen, I'm a homeowner who is trying to continually improve my lawn.
THe lawn is primarily bermuda with some large patches of St Augustine (which I would like to overrun the bermuda eventually).

I'm getting ready to apply my fall fertilizer. I've not had a soil test done, but my soil has a hard clay base, not much loam.

Last spring I used 13-13-13 with good results.

I'm not sure if this would be OK for fall.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Forgot to mention, this application will be done with granular, from a push cart type spreader.

For a homeowner, I'd recommend Scott's Southern Turf Builder. Now is a good time.

I believe it is a 26-3-14 analysis that's high in sulfur also. I don't know what kind of soil you have there in Louisiana, tho. And how are your winter temps? Are you near the Gulf where you hardly ever have a frost or freeze, or up north where you can get surprisingly cold (for us Southerners) for brief periods in the winter?

Also, MSMA will do a lot of real damage to the St. Aug while the Bermuda will tolerate it, though brown out for a while . . .
