exmark spark arrestor

Has anyone else received a spark arrestor from Exmark in the mail? I got one today.

exmark is sending out spark arresters for most all lazers regardless of engine, if you don't get one within another month or so, go see your dealer and they can install one for you.

Does anyone else find that the spark arrestors actually cut the horsepower even when they are clean? I have noticed this more on my two cycle engines than the 4's but maybe its just my equip. ?????

Too late for me. I've already outfitted my fuel injected Lazer with a White Bros. tuned pipe and dumped the factory exhaust.

A tuned pipe is an exhaust pipe setup that works much like a header manifold. They are common on racing motors, both two AND four strokers that are found on quads, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and even the little two strokers we run on our remote control airplanes. They increase the power and output of the engine. Have you ever seen a pipe with an expansion chamber on it? Or, have you ever seen the pipes they run on the souped up chainsaws they run in competition for the cookie cutting? These are examples of tuned pipes. Unfortunately, I was only kidding when I said I put one on my Lazer. That would be cool if something like that WAS available though....:)

Some one must have set something of fire ,for them to send out all these spark arrestors!

I got mine in the mail yesterday. The letter stated some problems with fire damage. The only reason for me to use it would be because the ultra vac bags are close to the muffler.
