I remember back in high school my basketball coach used to tell us that it was important to work hard because there is always someone out there who wants to beat you, embarass you, out-do you and win...and while you are sleeping, they are training, practicing and doing whatever it takes to get one step up on you. I was reminded of this when this morning I was reading something and came across a quote from the famous poet Henry Longfellow...

"Those heights by great men won and kept
Were not achieved by sudden flight. But they
while their companions slept Were toiling
upward in the night."

Most of the things that make one successful and allows them to achieve great things are the efforts and sacrifices that are made when others are not looking.

Good quote Sean. Very true. No secret to success. Just hard & smart work.

It's stuff like that ,well , that's the reason the other countries want to tkae us down , it's taught to the kids .
It's a flaw we humans have .
It's why wars exist

But each of us measure success differently.

To some its money to others its time and others its just being there own boss
And yet to others its being able to sleep 16 hrs a day while the spouse works.

I think it's all about attitude too. You must keep a positive attitude when you get complaints. If you think pennies, you'll get pennies. If you think dollars, you'll get dollars.

The only difference between some who is successful and someone who is unsuccessful is how they spend their time.

Networking, continuing education and yes, even exchanging ideas on these forums makes for an advantage when you're competing with others for the same chunk.
