IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL
Ariens Company is recalling approximately 33,032 walk behind lawn mowers equipped with 6.5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton engines. Ariens Company has recently received reports of the blade adapter breaking in a number of these lawnmowers. If the adapter is not replaced promptly, a broken piece of the adapter could fly out from under the mower deck causing a potential risk of personal injury.
Continued use of the mower after adapter breakage could eventually result in detachment of the blade, further damage to the mower and potential risk of personal injury.
The recalled lawnmowers were manufactured from November 1999 through May 2000, and sold by Home Depot and Ariens. The following models and serial number ranges are affected:

The Model and Serial Number are found on the mower deck.
Consumers should stop using these lawn mowers immediately. Scotts customers may return their mower to a local Ariens Dealer for a free repair or call toll free at 1-877-466-0812 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CST.
