i have mounted the little round niche lights near the top of the wall. if you leave the coping overhang alittle it pretty much hides the light, and also makes a neat effect.

The hockey puck niche lights would work nice as suggested above. You might need more than 5-6 . You could also try a spreader type light from ground level to highlight it. They give a wider angle of light compared to an uplight like a bullet light. You will probbaly need a few more than 5-6 of these also to cover all 100'

LED lights look great also. Place them about 10 to 12 inches away and they cast a blue white light that is much different than the regular lamps. This difference makes a super nice contrast with the rest of the lighting.

Do you want to uplight or down light or have lights that wash down the wall from the puck type lights? Area or path lights on top of the wall will highlight the wall and any plantings above it. Spreader or bullet lights on the ground shining up in a crossing pattern will give excellent shadow and highlight views of your natural stone walls. I am not a real fan of the puck or niche lights for effect, but they do have their place around walkways or steps and risers.

You may have to experiment with fixture style, placement and lamp wattage and spread to get the desired look. Done properly, the lighting will make that wall an feature of your night time landscape.
