how many yards of topsoil can you fit on a 5x10 single axle trailer. dont have plywood sides but i dont know if the axle would hold if it was filled four feet or so high. Ive had three on there but want to be able to safely haul as much as possible

You have to calculate it this way every yard of topsoil weighs 1 ton so your trailer will carry 1 yard of material. If you loaded that trailer full of wet topsoil you would prolly bend the axle or frame.

5x10x4=200 cubic feet.. divide that by 27 and you end up with just over 7 yards you could put in it. BUT, you would weigh 14,000 lbs plus the weight of your trailer. All this on a 3500 lb axle... NO WAY legally you can one haul 1 yard and be within the weight limits
This may work with some types of mulch that weigh about 400 lbs per yard
