Mr. Gates, you got quite the set up there. It's good to see a landscaper with all the right tools, plus you own all them.... and how do I know, you live in the next town over. Take it easy man, someday we will actually meet

gotta dig the custom hopper on the back of the ztr for bagging/leaf removal. its creative, and I guess it would be cheap to replace your hopper if it were to suffer irreparable damage somehow.

The barrel is $40, so much easier than bags. I plan on building a leaf enclosure for the dump trailer next year if I get a full time guy.
Thanks

If you're referring to the thing on the roof, I believe it's a LED lightbar.

Looks like an LED lightbar. On that Fisher, did you have to cut the airdam for the mount?

Jamesgateslandscaping
11-03-2005, 08:04 PM
Ya I did, cut both air dams actually. The light bar on the GMC is a LED, I also have a whelen mini edge strobe bar. The GMC has hidden strobes also.

If possible, could you take a pic of the mount with the plow off? I'm thinking about getting a Fisher but I don't want to cut the dam if it isn't gonna look too hot. Thanks

Nice buy.

Is the scag walkbehind a hydro or belt? How many hours? How do you like it?

Looks sweet. Thanks!

Jamesgateslandscaping
11-10-2005, 10:40 PM
Its a hydro, Love it, its really a professional, high quality machine. I think it has prob close to 500-700 hours on it (no meter, its a 03). I paid only $1200 for it, it was a steal...my dealer asked if my hands were still on fire:angry:
I have been very lucky on my buys and always try to have extra cash on hand to atleast take a look at and buy anything of "interest".
Oh ya, dude, don't worry about Zim Bob, hes just jealous cause he can't even reach the pedals:cry:
Thanks

one word of advice. Make sure all those trailers are secured well. People will steal anything they can get their grimmey little hands on. I had my entire set up stolen a few years back. It really sets you back, expecially when your just gettin into the business. I put chains through both axles and then lock the tounge. It may take 5 minuets longer to lock the trailer up, but if it gets stolen, you will regret not taking that time to secure it.

Nice stuff though....

Hey james nice trucks! Do you have a better pic of the plow mount on the new GMC, I want to see how much they cut out? How the new gmc hauling the enclosed trailer? Do you notice that it is realy back there compaired to your open trailer? can you let me know what your mpg is hauling the enclosed trailer?

Jamesgateslandscaping
11-13-2005, 10:04 PM
Just got the trailer yesturday, Dont really know the MPG yet, should be 10 like towing everything else. I dont have a good pic of the mount yet, but one of the pics shows it without the pushbar on. Its nice towing the enclosed cause it isnt as loud and bangy as the open, its nice and quite.
Thanks

Wow I didn't realize you were 19. How long have you been at this and how many service accounts do you have? Do you focus on lawn maintenance?

Nice work!

Jamesgateslandscaping
11-14-2005, 11:50 AM
26 weekly lawn accounts, we try to have both, actually three, maintenence, construction and snow plowing. I am at school for landscape design/managment currently so I cant expand anymore lawn accounts til I get some full time guys, which will be happening in the spring. I just took my ICPI certification test for concrete pavers and (hope I passed;) ) cause I hope to do a lot of hardscapes next year.payup . I will be adding a 1 ton dump and a skid to the fleet next year and will be upgrading the chevy to a 1 ton SRW pickup in the fall.
Thanks

Open landscape trailer is for sale guys, $1600/obo with racks and tool box, don't need with the enclosed trailer and need to make room for an equipment trailer and skid steerpayup .
I also had a light bar stolen off of my 1/2 2 days before Xmas, real bummer but its a wake up call.

All trucks will be back, Trailers will be either white or black. Mowers will always be the same for easement of parts interchangability/blades. I watch the Want Ad like a hawk for deals and I have been very lucky in the past, I am proud of my accomplishments at the age of 19....3 trucks, 3 trailers, 2 tractors, mowers, tons of power tools, and very supportive parents....Thank you for your garage and yard:clapping: .

Jamesgateslandscaping

Plow handles it just great! No timbrens, no problems really. Just lots of preventive maintence, but we have been lucky thus far, just dont over work it.

Been mowing since second grade really around the neighborhood. But formed the LLC 2 years ago and has just exploded. Quality is first with us, not matter what along with image...as you can see in recent pic trends of all our equipment. We only mow 40 lawns but will be up to atleast 60-70 next year. We focus mostly on construction with a little maintenance when need be:sleeping: .
