I've been lurking around here a few months and finally became a member.I am planning on starting out part-time at the beginning of 2006.I am going to keep my regular job and start out slow. I don't have alot of expensive equipment yet, but some decent equipment that I believe will work good til I get built up enough to get some real good equipment.
I have read alot here in the forums, and there is alot of good info here.Just wanted to say "Hello" to everyone and hope to keep learning from you guys.:waving:

I can't begin to thank everyone here for the knowledge and advice they have supplied me with. Thank you to all the seasoned veterans, and welcome to all the new guys. Read, read, read. It'll make a world of difference!

Well,I have been buying up pieces of equipment for a few years now.My dad has tinkered with small engines all his life, and can pretty much bring them back from the dead. So,I find alot of stuff not running, buy it dirt cheap, invest in some parts, and he gets them goin.
I'm gonna start out with:
I have:
2 Snapper Commercial 21' Self Propelled Mowers
John Deere 260G Weedeater
Homelite Bandit Weedeater
McCulloch Handheld blower
Snapper ET300C Commercial Walkbehind edger
McCulloch Titan GHT30 Hedge trimmer
and a Craftsman chainsaw and McCulloch chainsaw
I know I'm gonna need a decent rider or walk behind, but I think I have enough to get a decent start.

Wow, a lot of new folks here! Welcome and good luck to you all. There is a lot of good info on here that will help you. One of the most important things Ive learned is learning what your market/area will bare and if it will support you. Everyone keeps telling me to move:D Also learned a lot about NOT doing free stuff for folks because they will run rough shod all over you. One the the stong polocies I adopeted was charging extra and it has worked good on some and I lost some but the ones I lost did not need anyway.

LoL looks like 2005 is the year of the new lawn peeps. Just started my company in may, wish I would have found this site alot sooner. This forum is like an LCO's encyclopedia. Many a night my wife has threatened me with a divorce if I dont stop reading this forum and come to bed lol. Sometimes I get so into these posts that I think my eyes get so tired they want to bleed. So thxs to all you old guys for the info, and Hello to all the new guys like me.
