That is the fastest 1000 members we have gotten. For those that did not know, we have gotten the last 1000 members in less than 3 months. Chuck's goal was to get 1000 members in the first year and we got 2000. My prediction is 5000 members by Dec. 31 2001, but would be happy with 6000. :)

Well I brought this back up to the top to show how far we have come in a short nine months. We have added on almost another 2500 members.

With 2001 coming to a close, Matt and I would like to wish all members a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

You have to remember that a very large majority of the members don't have the time to spend surfing the Internet as some of us do.

I can remember when I was in this business I was lucky to get 10 minutes a night and usually only got online twice a week .... no more than 30 minutes.

I worked 10-12 hours a day, worked another 2 hours when I got home finishing the day up, shower in there somewhere, eat dinner, spend quality time with my family..... you can see that does not leave much time for a computer let alone LawnSite.com.

I think its amazing that over 5,400 people have actually taken the time to register. If you take into consideration the total number of LCO's out there, then out of that number how many have computers, then out of that number how many have internet access and know how to do more than just use the AOL chat rooms. ( yes, a majority of sign ups are AOL, I guess that makes since since they have like 30 million members ) then take into consideration that the net is a VERY large place with lots of info...... then, find LawnSite.com.

Whew, thats quite a process considering the majority of demographics I am targeting.

I have ton's more lurkers than members. Ive got emails from members saying they are just now registering after using LS for over a year. They only registered because they had a specific question they could not find answered anywhere else.

Thats why I am dedicated to never making this a paid site. People associate the Internet with FREE information.

I owe everything to my members and moderators. Especially my dedicated members who enjoy helping their peers and educating about this industry.
