View Full Version : Is this Woods a good deal?

I have a chance to buy a Woods Mowin Machine 5182 from an individual. It's been garaged, has a Kohler 18, 1050 hours on it, 52" deck, hydro, and in good shape. I can have it for $2,500. We have a Yazoo 3 wheel 60" as our primary mower and I'm not sure if I should grab this Woods or buy a walkbehind. Any opinions on Woods?

Thanks

Have someone you trust check it out. That seems like a real good price. Woods seems to be a good quality piece of equipment.

That's a good price. The nice thing about it is you can also get parts for it at your local Gravely dealer because it rolls off Gravely's production line right beside the Gravely mowers.

I thought that Woods was owned by Grasshopper?

Woods commercial mowers are made by Grasshopper and Gravely.
I believe the unit you are looking at is a Grasshopper made unit.
Either mfg, it would seem to be a decent price if the unit is in good running order.

Gravely/Ariens makes a 6182 w/18hp Kohler engine.

In any event you would be serviced by the Woods dealer as that is the agreement made with Woods.

If you want to know if Gravely made it please provide serial number and approximate year of production. I can find out for you.

Thank You
