What can I do with a neighbor that now recently started to park his truck on the street in front of my place, when he knows that we park our mowing equipment there. he is doing this just to tick me off. I have asked him not to, he has 60' of his own curb to park on, but just refuses to move it. also when the mail comes so i don't get my mail, which means any checks coming in i don't get unless i go to the post office and get it. anybody ever run across a a$$ like that. can i get the cops to make him move it? your opinions are welcomed. With the busy season rite around the corner this is not good.

hehehehe I have a good one for you. This fixed my neighbor although I do not park on the street myself. It does make it a hassel to pull out of my drive with a 4 dr crew cab long bed and a 16 foot trailer and a real nightmare to back it in. I simply mow my yard early in the mornig while the dew is still down. I would give it a good plaster job and by the time the sun would come up it would be glued nicely til he would wash it, then I would just do it again :) He finally parked else where ;)

Throw an open bottle of skunk pee in his car on a nice hot day. Also rub some on his door handle. =). Even though he can throw the bottle away he will never get rid of the smell. (BTW this is the stuff hunters use.)

If hes truely out to be a PITA, I would get one of those $30 signs made up that states RESERVED PARKING FOR CC ALL OTHERS TOWED AWAY AT OWNERS EXPENSE. The tow his (_!_) -LOL.

Or you could try putting cones out there when you leave about 16' from the curb and put the yellow tape to 'em.

I would not recommend the splattering of grass because he can then sue you for any damages that may have already been there, but were "created" by the mowers.

Good Luck this season!

All the suggestions are good, skunk maybe a little drastic though. Is this guy one of those “you got them their big mowers why can’t you cut my foot tall grass for free soo’s I ken fin my dwog” and you did not take to it and he is mad and he is going to “fix” you?

Splattering grass on his car or smacking him over the head with the working end of your weed-eater (man that sounds good Though) is going to get nothing but trouble as he will probably do something to your truck in return and not solve the problem. Some cities have ordinances about parking on the street and also “running a business” out of your house, check with your city anonymously over the phone to find out. People like this are a pain in the A$$ and just have nothing better to do with their life except make trouble for some one else.

Good luck to you what ever you choose.

Hope this helped?

my newspaper man was doing the same thing, until i told him i was going to beat the living **** out of him, now he doesn't park there. but a no parking sign sounds good, talk to your council man about getting one where he parks.

If he's blocking your mailbox then I would call the post office! He is interfering with delivery of your mail and there should be something you can do about that. That's why I hated living in a neighborhood.

You better check with the City to find out if indeed you need to rezone your home as commercial though. He might already know something you don't and by making waves about this you might wind up getting fined for running a biz out of your home. I would check first then splatter later!

A tire valve stem tool should do the trick.
Remove the valve stem core, let all his air out and put the core back in.
I would do this to the 2 tires that are facing your property.
This way no damage is done other than his time.
Then he might get the idea to park somewhere else.

IS THERE NO ONE FROM NY THATS NOT A CRIMINAL AT HEART???
ROFLMAO- :)

Tampering with someone elses property can lead to felony prosecution if youre not careful.

Just make sure that you are prepared for whatever consequences come your way for vandalism, trespassing, breaking and entering, etc., etc., etc.

This thread brings back lots of bad memories.

In our town, the cops basically STINK!!

I am not a person to be pushed around, and where I used to live, one of our neighbors caused us so much grief. They would not let us park our truck ANYWHERE on the street. They literally would block us in. They have 7 or 8 vehicles, maybe more. They would take two of their vehicles and park one inches in front of our truck. The other inches in back of our truck. We were always penned in. Time after time, I would place the call to the cops and it wouldn't do much good.
The endless battles were so tiring. I chased him down, followed him to work, made him late to work, went to council meetings, etc. It didn't do me any good except getting a few minutes of satisfaction when I was able to make his life miserable.http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/image/ez_icons/emoticons/devil.gif

Nothing good comes out of fighting with a neighbor.

Unfortunately, the only advice I can give you is to try and see if you can lease that parking space in front of your house. If not, go the route looking into if it is legal for him to block your mailbox.

All I can say is good luck. I've been there.

Why don't you just park your rig in front of his house?

And get a PO Box. Don't use your actual address on any
business paperwork.

If that does not work ask him if he had a choice would he want his arm or his leg broken.

I would tell him that I'm not getting my mail because he's parking in front of my mailbox and I would appreciate it if he would not be parked there when the mail comes. This is the old saying approach that you can draw more flies with honey than with vinegar. Now the vinegar approach if the first fails, Mr. whoever, you see that E-350 over there? Ok you park in front of my mailbox again and I miss my mail tellya what I'm going to do, Wrap a chain around your rear axle and take that E-350 and snatch the sh$t out of it. And if I end up having to pay for the damage its going to take a long, long, long time. NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

One other approach is to make his life hell!!!. If you can not get the parking thing resolved than just give him a nice wake up call every morning. I do not know what the ordinance is in your city/town but here it is 7 am..meaning I can legaly get up and at the stroke of 7 am in the morning and can crank the mower, run a chain saw, weedeater etc. Work on your hot rod..run it with open headers next to his window. At night take on a carpentry procect...run a skill saw for a hour or so. Give him the equvilant of your grief. Just food for thouught..i use to be quiet and let others run me over...not any more!!! :)

Let me get this straight, you make a habit of parking your truck with trailer all loaded up on the street in front of your house?

I wouldn't want to look at that all the time.

The only time one of my rigs even comes to my house is to do work there, or to stop by for lunch.

You live in a residential house, not a commercial building, right?

Guys, thanks for the info. but I'm sticking with my original plan to just pay him back in small doses. Yes i park my rigs in front of my house when I'm home where else am i going to put them? downtown? thats a no brainer. at nite they get backed in the shed.Another thing How many of you guys can own a commercial building with all the lowballers out there keeping our prices down.

i would get 2 floorjacks and get a worker to help.jack up both ends of his car at the same time and just roll it across the street back to his side.(unless it's gravel or dirt).we did this to some commuter who parked their car next to my house when i was having a big tree removed.they couldn't get the equipment next to the tree and didn't want to have anything happen to the car,so we jacked it up and rolled it over to the other side of the street.man i would have loved to have seen the look on that persons face when they came back to their car.

I like Homer & Stones advise. I also like the wake up call. Check with police, they can give you best advise.

Last I knew, nobody owns the exclusive right to park on a public street.

My guess is the neighbors tired of the trailer and equipment dragging down the neighborhood property values.

You have several choices, park elsewhere, leave the car in front of your house, then move it when you want to park the rig, park in your driveway, or park the rig at the yard and take the truck home to your driveway.

I think the best option would be, either keep the equip and trailer out of sight and under cover while at home or park your equipment at a self-storage facility.

As for the mailbox stone is right. You gotta be nutz to have business checks sent to your mailbox esp if its a rural route box (curbside).

(My mail comes thru a slot in the front door, FWIW).

Just pull yout truck up to the back or front of his, throw her down in 4 low and push the SOB's truck back in front of his house.

I'm glad I live in the COUNTRY (for now, city is closing in to fast)!!! My Brother, who lives up the road from me (further from town, but closer to the NEW Subdivision) had the law called to him the other night for shooting at Coyotes chasing the cows behind his house. It was just 4 a.m. when he came in from work. He said "Barney" came up on his poarch with his flash light in one hand and hand on his gun and tapped on the door, "we had a report of shots fired from this residence." Now it was 4 a.m. and his house is 300 yards from a country road and the next closest house at least 500 yards from his and he was shooting away from the road and behind his house. Can you say city moved to the country and is extremely parinoid?

OOOPPPPSSSS, got way off topic, I am still glad I live in the country!! If anyone parks in front of my house they better be broke down and not for long!!
