How Late is Too Late

I have aerated and seeded all of my lawns nearly two months ago.

However, my good friend did not heed my advice and has delayed everything until now.

He did a small lawn renovation by adding topsoil in low lying areas and now wants to reseed.

Our average temps right now are 40s in the day and teens and 20s at night.

So, how late is too late??

Tn, I did some customers lawns over the past weeks that also waited too long to get back to me. I've had very little, if at all, to no results. I planted fescue. I had sent out leters in July, August, and september telling them to get on my list, they waited until Nov to call. Guess what?.... they still paid.
