One of my mowing customers lives right on the beach. We installed his lawn last fall (sod). I tried to talk him out of grass in such a harsh environment, but he insisted. Then he asked me to maintain it and he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep it in tip-top shape. The problem is the salt water bath the lawn got a few weeks ago when the ocean came up over the sea wall for a few hours. How should I rescue this lawn? I was thinking granulated gypsum, and water the heck out of it. But how much gypsum? And, is there anything else I can do?

I would send Kevin (PYS-Paradise Yard Service) an e-mail with your questions and he should be able to assist you. He lives in the aloha state and has to deal with salt water conditions.

Tell him Kut-N-Kru referred you and he should give you the 10% Off LawnSite Discount for his consulting services. :)

Good Luck!

Water the heck out of it!
And when your done, water it again!

Test the soil!

If irrig is from well, have the irrig water tested too!
