MMLawns,
Just to add to your post because some don't know or understand. Your cert. does not have to be renewed by 12/31, as long as the paperwork and money is sent in before you began your mowing season. In other words if you don't plan to mow till March you don't have to send everything in till 4 weeks before, to process. But it can be renewed after 12/31, for more info. you can call your local exten. office...

That's not really true. What you are doing is putting off paying the $50.00 renewal fee because you won't need it during the winter months is all that is. Legally the license expires on 12/31 of each year and legally you are not licensed after that date until you pay and renew. So, just because you maybe not be using them why even bother with waiting til March? I mean dang, it's only $50

The $50 is not the issue, it's simply the fact that no you do not lose your cert. on 12/31 (for good) it can be renewed after that date, further more there is a four to five week processing period so if you want to stay "legal" you must send it in at least five weeks in advance...

Dude, somebody is really feeding you bad information. I mailed in my renewal on 12/9/05 and received my 2006 license in the mail on 12/16/05, exactly one week total turn around time. Heck, even when I originally got my license it only took 14 days to get them after passing the exams and receiving the paperwork from the State to apply for them. The only things that actually takes up to 4 weeks is getting your scores after you take the exams and posting on the State AG www site continuing ed credit hours.

The license cert itself is valid for 5 years but must be renewed every year. So yes the $50 is the only reason to not renew by 12/31 as the law states. All you are trying to do by not following the statue is simply delay spending $50...cause there is no other reason to not do as you are suppose to.

I didn't even entertain the thought of putting it off - with my memory, I would forget about it completely until Spring and ...ooops...

You would think that a man with $90,000 a month payroll will have others licensed.

Shows how much you know....when a company does Government Contracts in NC the OWNER of the Company is REQUIRED by the contracts to have a pesticide license. In case you still can't figure figure out why....that requirement is because if the company owner is not licensed....but instead....your "others" are and they quit, then your company is no longer licensed in NC to apply pesticides and are in violation of the contract and it voids it.......by the owner having it the company never misses a beat.....

NOW, I have no friggin idea what your deal is, who you even are or why you are hounding my ass on here all of a sudden, but anytime you'd like to see first hand a class operation.....come on down......
