Is there such a tool that will calculate or convert nitrogen, phos, and potas. and the amounts needed per sq. ft given the sq ft desired??

Thanks

Jake

This is for 1 lb. N for 1,000/ sq. ft. in case you don't have access to a computer.

Eg. 17-2-11 50lb. bag

Divide 100 by 17, because 17 is based on a hundred pounds. This gives you 5.88 lb. This will be the total amount of fert. you need per 1,000 sq. ft.

The whole bag covers 8,500 sq. ft. for N because it is a 50 lb. bag.
8,500 divided by 1,000 = 8.5
8.5 x 5.882 lb. = 50 lb.

If you want .5 lb N per 1,000 sq. ft. use half the amount.

Yeah, the Google method is definitely easier, but not always practical.

Just multiply the weight of the bag by the percetage of N, P or K posted on the analysis. A 50 pound bag of 20-10-10 has 10 punds of Nitrogen and thus will do 10,000 Sq ft @ 1lb of N per 1,000
