Have 52" Bunton hydro, 16 HP Vanquard OHV twin; ground speed lacking for sulky operation. Want to replace 13x6.50-6 tires with 15x6.00-6 for a little more speed.
1.) Will these narrower tires fit on the existing rims?
2.) Are mower tires tricky to change; do I need special tools? Any tips?
Wayne,
I was contemplating the same thing on my 48" Gear SCAG. I only have 1" between tread and rear of deck, so I'm not sure if I can fit them. It would be tight for me. I was hoping to increase cutting height of the rear of the deck so I can properly cut at 3.25" with blades dropped to lowest position.
I get all my tires from a local small tire shop. They can order me anything that is made, plus they install them for me. It is a little tough with the wheels being so small. Set the tires out in the sun to warm up before you attempt it yourself. You will need tire tools and a lot of patience and a helper.
