I hate to say this, only because of the guys that may have been down this year, but shoot 2005 was our best year ever! I am still amazed when I look at the books and see what we did this year. We truly were blessed.

I dont know about everyone else but i doubled what i did last year, this is also onl y my 3rd year professionally doing this. Before i was in school full time.

Our gross was about 38% mowing. 10% mulch 10% leaves etc...

But my expenses need to get under control, geeze

The key for us being just a small business, is never to just rely on grass cutting. We came out plenty ahead this year, not due to grass cutting, but instead thanks to other landscaping jobs.

Excellent year, my gross grew by about 30%. I did alot more landscaping this year as compared to last, which is where most of the growth came from. HAPPY NEW YEAR! :waving:

I had a good year. Gross income was up over 50%. I credit that fact that I started plowing snow for such an increase.

This being our first year in business we have no basis for comparison, we experienced severe drought, one of the worst in the last 100 years according to records.

Despite these things I can honestly say I was very pleased with our first year, loved the work, the freedom, most customers, and the ability to chart our own course. Last year at this time I believe I was into revision 2 or 3 on my business plan, not that it changed that dramatically (the core plan was the same) but fine tuning it. This year I'm sitting at home checking lawnsite out, preparing for next season, enjoying family, and will take a much needed vacation yet this winter.
Our forecasted/estimated financial goals relating to sales and income were better than doubled. In light of this I have re-thought the portion of my business plan where I lay out specific goals for three and five years, to the point, I've more than doubled our originally long range financial forecast.

All in all a great learning year, great financial year, involving a great deal of hard work. I do not regret a doggone thing about doing this, had a great deal of faith and trust in the lord, my wife, and myself. Having the time of my life and looking forward to next season.

We to were truly blessed this year. :waving:

I had a really great year. I cut my first big commercial account and bidded fairly well. The residents loved my work and I was able to get a 2-year deal worth about $28,500. I was able to lease a truck. I'm very blessed for all that I have got. Hopefully within a year or two I can look at buying a house.

After looking at '04 numbers..I took a chance and went solo, culled out about ten problem yards picked up about 5 good ones to replace those....worked more hours and made ALOT more money. I'll be going over '05 numbers and doing some more tweaking for '06...

this was a better year than last year. Although the conditions were dryer this year, i had more customers this year to offset it, thanks to the lord. Also, much better customers this year, still had some rotten eggs to throw away, but you'll always get them. Hopefully lord willing, i will have a even better year coming up.

Great growing season down south. Increased GROSS by 30%. Don't know about NET just yet, still figuring. Still remaining SOLO so far. Looks like I get to keep more of the money that way. Age may require me to add 1 helper before too much longer though. I feel like if I had a "trimmer man" I could do more and live longer.

Sure is nice being my own boss too. (at least until I get home)

God has blessed me, my business and my family with good health once again.

Well, my sales graph says that gross sales were down, but my wallet seemed to have the same amount of cash in it. Landscaping was down but I think I recouped the income on staight labor jobs. So I'll say the difference was in material charges. When I do my taxes in Feb. I'll know for sure.

Gross numbers this year are about 3 times over last year.
This year will be the first with a profit, but employee problems will not let the profit be at the right number yet. Restructured a little to control that better from now on.

I had a good year. It was weird because of the strange weather. You never get what you'd like to, just because there isn't a year when you don't have a dry period. I did some growing and added in employees. That in itself was a good learning lesson. I am looking to experiment with different areas and services, kind of building up to a big move in the near future. Overall I can't complain, and I keep on trucking along.

doubled our gross for the third straight year. Continued buying and replaceing equipment without financing so take home isnt as great as it could have been. Looking forward to this year, unless I decide to expand I dont need any other equipment and what I got is paid for, except for the new truck. So Bring it on 2006!!!

IN the Black. Made decent money this year and now that I am full I will make sure that I weed out the good ones to make better money on the excelent ones.
