OK Boots... Here's a pic I found of a guy's valve manifold that could rival yours. NOT!!! Just look at the craftsmanship. :p

Those look like Quick Connect garden hose connections?

At least he won't have any trouble with water hammer.

....and all on a board with a pair of terminal strips. I haven't seen those since I had a train set.

A different look at it. Didn't realize it was mounted to a picnic bench/table.

Here's another jumbled bunch of pipes.

Thats not so bad, theres been a few times that I've had to manifold like that, and as much as I dislike it, you end up looking like that for the first 10-15 feet.

Probably looks even better once the trench is backfilled. :p

That is a jewel I missed reading old posts when I first got here. And those are autodrains on the bottom? I'm guessing the box they were in was such that you probably couldn't have removed a bonnet for a valve repair without digging either. But then, looking at the paint, maybe it never was burried in a box?
Either way, that's the ugliest manifold I've seen in a very long time.

Makes me feel good about what I'm doing. Ha Ha.

You're right about that. I come across some really strange things that were done years ago by plumbers and go WTF? and it used to really piss me off and get me to thinking what the hell were they thinking of? However, when I'm gone I'm sure someone will dig up some of my work and go WTF? as technology changes over the years.

I've seen three of those threaded together with every port filled with a hose.

Some people.

A pond guy ran a hardline off one of those brass things for a permanent pond supply line,so I said what the hell, and ran my drip main line off it too!
His leaked, mine diden't..hahahaha,In fact,I think it still is leaking after he's been out three times to fix it!

as far as the first manifold goes..all I can say is all that work then he hooks it up to that cheap little outdoor timer!!
Incredible!

Believe it or not my dad had a couple of plastic hose diverters in his back yard for his gardens where he grew a lot of his personal food. He said he needed them because sometimes he didn't want to water certain parts of his garden because they were barren at certain times of the year or due to the watering requirements of certain vegetables and fruits. When we automated his property I also automated his garden system. The garden was hooked up off one valve and had bubblers for his furrows. However, I installed ball valves in a raised box on the main lateral line so he could open/close certain laterals as he pleased. After we were done he was quite impressed with it and didn't know why he hadn't done this sooner.

LOL. Your line probably didn't want to put up with you threatening to yank it apart if it leaked. :p
