For discussions of treatment , check These threads (http://www.lawnsite.com/search.php?query=wild+onion&forumchoice=-1&booleanand=yes&searchin=all&searchdate=-1&searchuser=GroundKprs&searchdateline=&exactname=yes&action=dosearch&getdaily=&pagenum=). Best 2,4-D product would be an ester formulation, but amine will work, though not as effectively. Read the actual ingredients on the label, will be like:
amine= Dimethylamine salt of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid
ester= Isooctyl (2-ethylhexyl) ester of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid
These can be found in any hardware, nursery, or feed store. Some carry a dozen different types under various trade names. If you do find the ester formulation, and it will be the best for wild onion/garlic, be careful not to use this on other weeds in hot weather. After application, the esters can volatilize and then land on other plants and harm them. Ester formulations are COOL WEATHER weed tools only. Good luck.
