T6500 opinions

hey all,
i appreciate the feedback on the truck search. was wondering what were the opinions of a gmc T6500 as a lite medium duty dump truck. it has a cat 3126 engine and a 6speed manual transmission. no details on the tranny. looks like a good truck. i like the room behind the seat for storing the transits and things i wouldn't want outside in a box. and am a bit partial to cab overs. it has a 10 ft. 4-7 yard dump box on it. fire away with the opinions.i enjoy hearing the other views.

Is the truck on air or juice brakes if juice is it 4wheel disk ?

You are dealing with a 3 ton truck but if you only need a dump that can haul 4 yards of material it would be a okay truck. Does the truck have 22.5 wheels or is it a low pro 19.5 wheels. What does it have for a rear axle 19,000lb or 21,000lbs ?

The one thing you have to watch with those cab over GMC is the cab is a little rattly I know a few people with them and thats one of the compliants with them.

22.5" Budd wheels, 24,500 gvwr. don't know axle ratings or gearing yet.

If the truck has 10-21 axles you will have a decent truck then you can raise the gvw up to 30,000lbs.

i guess i should add the 3126 puts out 185 HP. that seems kind of low to me. i would be pulling a 14,000 lb. trailer with it often. maybe the gearing would make up for that. just doesn't seem like much. wondering if this is enough.

You can have that turned up a little bit more you should easily get 210 out of it. A Cat dealer that deals with truck engines can fiddle with the computer and tweak it up.
