i currently have a 95 ford ranger 4 banger. it pulls the trailer o.k. except on hills and stopping is hard. i'm planning on getting a new truck. my problem is i don't wanna get TOO MUCH truck. if that makes sense. i want a truck that does the job its intended too. i don't do snow plowing and i have a 5x10 tilt trailer with a 48" bobcat and i'm planning on getting another smaller walkbehind like a 36". i found a truck i'm interested in. its a 2001 chevy 2500 3/4 ton. would this be a good truck or should i go smaller or larger? thanks for all opinions...

You're gonna get 1500 different opinions, so here's mine ... I LOVE MY NEW 2005 FORD F-250 Diesel Crew Cab.

Depends on your budget, and if you have anymore plans to expand. If you have the money, go for it. If not, you could get away with a 1/2ton.

Honestly I think all you need is a 1500 Chevy or Gmc, you can get one with 2wd for a pretty good rice esp. if you get the base model. It should be plenty of truck for you, however I would get 4wd even if your not plowing.

i know the whole 4x4 things is pretty necessary but what about extended cab? do you think i'll utilize it or is it just a waste?

For a play/personal truck? Might as well if the price is right. For a work truck? Not for me.
