repairing lawn in sandy soil

i talked to a customer today. his soil is very sandy. after the dry year we had (2005) any trace of grass he HAD disappeared, and turned to strait weeds. hes concerned about what we should do. should i approach this like starting new, or should i overseed (the weeds...) . i will get a soil test asap.

with the moisture, and less intense sun, and lack of mowing, i figured early spring this would be my main project. any objections? and being in central pa any suggestions of a high quality seed that will hold up in sandy soil?

Make the soil better by incorperating all the organic matter that you can,compost.Remove all the weeds you can and till in yards of compost(aged)and then install a sprinkler system with a timer and seed it or sod it.I recommend sod over seed always
