Here are some more pictures of the trac-vac on it. I had 100 hours on it in spring 2005 now i have 503 hours. I put 403 hours on it just messing around this year mowing yards.

How do you like those tires? How is the trac vac? That is not made by protera is it? Kholer or Generac motor?

I like them in the spring when the ground is soft, They seem not to tear up the yard as much I think. I run turf boss during the summer. Yep it's a trac-vac. Nope it's made by Palmor. It's a 27hp Kholer engine. I've don't generac has a good engine yet, Lost of them have blown. Thanks

I agree on the Generac... I would not buy another one. The newer ones are not blowing as bad as the older 30 horse motors, but they are not as smooth as a kholer or as easy starting. I believe the kholer is just about the best gas engine you can put on a mower.
I ran a protera bagger and it was a piece of trash. It was always clogging up and for $1500 you would expect a heavy duty unit... not a unit that gets the whole frame bent w/ one brush of a tree!
So you are having good luck w/ the trac vac? Is it belt driven? How much?

When I go to add another chopper this year it will be the EFI to save some on fuel.I think the trc-vac worked good for us this season, We went by with just mowing then put the sid bracket on and then bagged the smaller clippings of leafs. Nope it's not belt driven. If I recall right it was $1800.00 for having the dealer put it on. If I add another chopper it will be the EFI to save one some fuel

how does the dixie fit thru those shed doors? Is there a overhead door on the side?
qualitylawnmanagement

I don't keep my chopper in the shed. The doors are to small so I keep it in our garage. Thats why I might build a building this fall or early spring.

I don't think I will be buying another EFI. I would bet the difference in fuel b/t your 27 kholer and my 28efi is not that much. I think they are too expensive too justify if you only put a 1000 hours on it and then replace it.

Yea thats true now that you point it out. I might just go with another flatlander. I replace them once the warranty it up one them so yea bout 1000hrs. I think the 28efi was like $900 more so I might just take that in fuel I guess.
