I know we have talked about making homemade shain stripers but how about a homemade roller striper. Any ideas?

Weld gussets to the rear of the deck (just between the rear tires) and take about 4 rollers and slide them on a rod and bolt it on. Should be OK. Basic, but trial and error could make it work well.

What I like about chains is, they will slide over about anything that gets in the way. With a full width roller you have to be more careful around sprikler heads that could be sticking up out of the turf and other objects a roller could get hooked on.

If you have the deck set right, you really don't need a kit on it, but it does help some. Several of my lawn pictures, I didn't have a striping kit on my Choppers. I didn't get one until June 2000 and I had my website up since December, 1999.

What Dixie1 told you sounds like a good idea, but I would support it in the middle also. ;)
