I mixed a can with momentum at 1/2 oz per gal
and hit some white clover in the back yard
about 10 days ago.
Today all the clover is now a pretty color of brown. No yellowing of the bluegrass.
Momentum is one of the few reasonalby priced selctive herbicides that can put down a wild violet in one shot.

It's good stuff. The application rate is 1.1-1.3 oz/1000 sq ft. The amount of water applied will vary with equipment used. My new sprayer treats 8,000 sq. ft./gallon of solution.
And it'll work quicker when the temp warms up.
Water doesn't kill weeds.

so how many ounces per gallon is best effective without harming the grass?

Evan, I'm assuming you're asking about back-pack here and that's going to depend on the sprayer used and the spray tip inserted.
My back-packs get about 16M per fill or about 1 gallon to 4M. Therefore I mix 20oz Amine per back-pack sprayer. (2 gallons of 3-way into my 50 gallon nurse tank.)

What's the first and most important thing you were when you were taking the class to get your LICENSE?.....READ THE LABEL!!!!!

Like we haven't heard that before.
It's so funny, of the 1,487 posts stating to read the label, not one person actually has read and can relay what the label says about the product in question.

So you guys really dig momentum. I know this may sound stupid but how do you go about figuring exactly how much spray to apply using a backpack sprayer? Do you set up a test? Or do you spray until foliageis soaked? I would really like to know. I think I have a couple of clients that need control and I was wondering how I could spray out the proper amount from a backpack?
You guys are great.
----------
Integrated Landscape Solutions
Lexington, KY

I read the label before I buy the product. At the price of chemicals today I'm going to be sure of what it says before I purchase. If you need a label there are several sites on the internet to get them free.
back pack calibration: fill backpack with clean water, measure off a square area, example: 100 square feet, spray water over measured area, when finished note remaining water in tank, example: back pack full 4 gallons...water left after spraying 100 square feet is 2 gallons...our back pack sprays 1 gallon over 50 square feet....

So let me get this straight. 1 gallon of Momentum solution will only cover 100 sqft.? Is that supposed to be 1000sqft? Hey Lazer, what kind of back pack sprayer do you use? I am getting ready to buy one and I was wondering what you use and what kind of nozzle insert you recommend? I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks
----------
Integrated Landscape Solutions
Lexington, KY
