What is the best dump kit for my Dodge 3500 flatbed? I have a budget of $1500. Is there a better one than the Northern model?

I am pretty sure there are better ones than those in northern, but, you get what you pay for. I remember one post in the pics section of a guy with an F250 i think that installed one on his truck bed.

Yeah I think it will work out great. 10,000 lbs should handle everything I will ever need to do... and the price is right.

And you can double that for only a couple hundred dollars more!! Good find on this one!

Let me know how it works out. If it works out too good I'll be pissed because I just sold my flatbed.

From what I found out you will spend a bit more on steel building an "undercarriage" (for lack of a better word) to mount the cylinder on.

When I was pricing one for my flatbed parts were running between $2000 - $2500 (depending on where I was purchasing them from). The hydralics were pretty cheap but it was all the extra steel and misc things that added up.

Even if you do all the work you self and stick $2000 total into making it dump you will be doing pretty good IMHO. Installed the shops around here were talking $4000-$4500.

The guy at heftydump said it would take 6 hours and that all of the material was there... I guess we will find out. A local body shop already owes me 1k and he going to paint the cab yellow and install the dump for another $700 for a total of $1700. We are going to barter the whole thing so no money is swapping hands... I just had to buy the dump kit. Hopefully it will work out.

Sounds like you got it all worked out. It's nice when things all come together.

I am interested to hear if the kit is all inclusive. If it is I will be a little pissed that I sold my flatbed :D Oh well, time to shop for another one :)

Yeah I have been checking out your post in the trucks and trailers forum. I have just about shared all of my input. Any more of my input would probably just be annoying! But I am waiting on some pics of your finished product.
