View Full Version : Mulch Blowing in CT,MA,RI and NY
01-27-2006, 08:33 AM
Just a reminder that if anybody out there needs any large amounts of mulch blown in, we are willing to drive to the states listed above for the right job. Obviously they would have to be over 100 yards at least to drive to MA or NY, but we do a lot of sub work in CT for other landscapers. Give me a call at (860)633-0115 ext. 23 and we would be happy to quote you some rates based on yardage you expect to put down. Ask for Matt when you call. We also shoot in certified playground fiber.

I am in Pennsylvania so e wouldn't be in the same marketplace. I am interested in your mulch blowing equipment though. What company manufactures it?
02-07-2006, 06:48 PM
Nice work there, got a price on how much that equipment costs? That is just too cool having the stuff blown in :waving:

that truck there is a finn unit. you can check out their blower trucks at
www.finncorp.com we picked that truck up when it was basically new. another company had bought it new and couldnt keep it busy so they sold it to us. blower truck costs range greatly depending on what accessories you want with it and which manufacturer you go with as well as you have a truck for it to be mounted on already or you need a truck as well.
www.expressblower.com is another manufacturer which makes some sweet but $$$$$ units.

My guy uses an express blower truck. I believe he said it cost him 300K. It's on a 10? wheel freightliner, has a 35 yard capacity, a built in coloring unit, holds 300' of hose on board, and God only knows what else.

you guys interested in a 35yd job? located 5 min off i84 in Ridgefield? It's on a hillside, virtually no planting yet so extremely easy access. I could tack on another 10 yds or so at my house which is just down the road. My supplier is 10 minutes down the road too. It would be a root grind material, i suspect your truck would have no problem with that material? Can you get me a price via PM? I have some pictures if necessary.
05-12-2006, 04:22 PM
Yes we would do that job for you. It would be $25.00 a yard for us to blow the mulch assuming we are picking it up at your supplier which is right down the road and you are paying for the mulch. the only thing im concerned about is the mulch type which you say is root ground? do you have a picture of it? i just want to make sure its not too bulky of a product. we typically shoot double ground mulch through the truck. if its more like a tree chipping size we may not be interested. if you can show me the type of mulch some how or clarify for me that would be great.
05-12-2006, 04:45 PM
I will swing over to the supplier this afternoon if i can to snap a picture of the material. it is double ground wood waste. tree stumps, roots, logs, etc.
05-13-2006, 05:06 PM
Here it is. I suspect the machine would have no problem with this? I'll PM you some more info/questions.
05-14-2006, 06:57 PM
that mulch looks like it should go through ok. call the office (860)633-0115. they will answer any other questions you may have. speak to pat and tell her you spoke with me about the mulching. she can answer all your questions and handle the booking for the job.

Should be there around 10 they are telling me. Brian, our driver will call you in the morning with a more accurate time. I think they are scheduled to blow one load out before you, and are expected to be in your neck of the woods around 10 am.
06-20-2006, 04:26 PM
thats what Pat told me last week. I will be in a meeting until 8:45am but will have the cell on after that.
