This past autumn was my first year doing overseeding. I did alot of searching on here, and had very good results with my customers lawns. Anyhoo, my question is , is overseeding an autumn thing, or is it also done in the spring also?

Ditto, we start 2nd week in September. Last year we went a little later due to the weather. We also will be doing a couple in spring, but end of the year is preferred. :)

Fall is the best time about the first of sept. You will have excellent growing conditions for grass and poor for weeds. Spring seeding is always a battle with the weeds.
Aerate the xxooo out of the ground. At least 12 to 14 holes per foot.
Dethatch if the thatch is thicker than 3/8 inch and remove the stuff
Slit Seed...open the soil to 3/8 inch deep..
Go over the lawn twice to get a good even seeding..
Water and fert...properly...After care is the key after a good seeding...
next spring some good weed prevention and you will have a living carpet.
