My personal choice would have to be SCAG! I love mine to death! Exmark I think is the second best, it is right next to same as Toro, but my personal preferance is Exmark over Toro. No reason really just an opinion, but my first choice is definitely SCAG. Stay within these 3 and you will have bought one great mower!

i have owned several different models and so have my friends who also cut, 1.hustler 2.toro 3.j.d. 4.scag 5.exmark this is how i rate them. bottom of the list in no particular order, gravely, cub cadet, grasshopper, dixon,. right now most of us here in nc run john deere due to local dealer support but i would easily switch to hustler if the nearest dealer weren't 50 miles away. DUKE #1 COACH K IS A GENIUS

I own three hustlers and one scag. All 60" cut mowers, I just purchased the scag and I can tell you that both the scag and the hustlers I own have 25 hp motors. Kohler on the scag and Kawasaki on the hustler and I can tell you that the scag did not even come close to the machine that the hustler is. It would bog down in heavy grass when the hustler does just fine. I mowed with the scag for about four hours and then mowed with the hustler and when I got back on the hustler I could tell a big difference.
