50 and shorts are you kidding? its 6:28 and 48 here and in 30 min all my guys will show up in long pants and coats, I guess were just sissys. Why so tall on the hedges? I have always wondered why people let the hedges get so tall in more confined areas. In larger open areas I can understand its a scale issue but in more confined areas I don't see the point of any over 8-ft. Cool ladder too. No criticism just curious.

She, it's not a "weedwacker" or trimmer it's an extended reach hedge trimmer. Go to Stihl's website and check them out.

I guess Canada has no OSHA, lucky you.

that ladder is like what is used in orchards to pick oranges or apples, pretty stable and very easy to get close to things.

I like that ladder. It'd be great for doing xmas lights too. Where'd you get it if you dont mind me asking, or what is it called so I could look them up?

Hey red wings its just like true cut said it a orchard ladder, most all the gardeners out here use the orchard instead of the step you can get right into your hedge with it. I got this one at my local lawn mower shop 16 ft $300. By the way this was the biggest hedge i've trimmed about 20 ft high and 700 ft long 3 days with hegde trimmer pole pruner and extended pole chain saw. I do lawn and garden maint. for the owner. They ask if i would like to have a shot doing it, so i said sure i have a few extra day.The best thing about it is that they pay cash.

I also have an orchard ladder..wood though and got it for 15.00 second hand..I think yours ia taller than mine though..That is one big AZZ hedge..now how mush did you charge them for all that work..and
you know to make the top narrower than the bottom of the hedge right?

That is sick, you would never catch me trimmng hedges that tall. Well maybe if you paid me enough.
700 ft x 20 ft high, I would charge like 2 grand for that....

Hey jojoleafsfan I'm guessing that hedge is in the Oakbay Uplands area. Great job. The only problem with hedges that tall is the up and down on the ladder. Its a gardeners own version of the stairmaster.:waving:

Nope we don't have OSHA, instead we have OH&S. :)
And yep, that would be a very big no no, if they ever seen you doing something like that. Standing on a chair and they would have a fit on you.
I like heights, I have even skydived, but that ladder.......I can't see me doing that. I would have a rope tied to the tree.
